Your chakras are the spiritual and energy centers of your body; it’s how life force circulates through you. They are spinning vortexes of energy (chakra means wheel or vortex), with slower speeds for the lower chakras and increasing speeds as you move up your body to the crown chakra. Chakras are also commonly represented as lotus flowers with increasing numbers of petals as you move up from the root chakra (4 petals) to the crown chakra (1000 petals).

A daily practice of clearing and balancing your charkas will help you lead a more peaceful and fulfilling life. A brief  general exercise is offered below,  which takes just a few minutes. A personalized chakra clearing, addressing each area individually, is also available.

These are the main Chakras: Starting from the base, your root chakra is located in the area of your tailbone and relates to your base needs of physical security, including money, physical safety, possessions, and career. Your sacral chakra is located about 4 inches below your belly button and relates to your body (health, appearance, etc.), physical pleasures (sex, thrill-seeking, food), addictions, and the ability to enjoy the experience of life. Your solar plexus chakra is located in your stomach area and relates to your thoughts and feeling about power and control. These are your lower chakras, which are concerned with physical and material issues.

Your upper chakras relate to spiritual issues. The fourth chakra is in your heart area and is your center for love, relationships, forgiveness, and intuition. Next is your throat chakra, which relates to speaking your truth to yourself or others, asking for your needs to be met, and any other communications or forms of self-expression. The ear chakras relate to your feelings about divine communication as well as replaying messages you have heard in the past from people, TV, or music. The eighth chakra is referred to as the Third Eye, and is located between your two physical eyes. It relates to your thoughts and feelings about the future and the pas, and to seeing clearly. Finally, the ninth chakra is located at the top of your head, just under your skull. The crown chakra relates to feelings about God, spirituality, divine guidance, and trust.

When any of your chakras become clouded by fear, slowed down by worry and struggle, or out of balance by negative thoughts, you feel sluggish and out of balance and are less able to attract what you want and live the joyful, abundant life you desire.
